Getting started

Who are the services for?

Small and mid-sized Canadian businesses, startups, non-profits, and professionals such as clinics, trades, retailers, and consultants. You don't need any technical knowledge or an in-house IT department.

How do I get started, and what should I prepare?

Send a short description of what you need through the contact page. It helps to include examples of websites or apps you like, the tools you already use, a rough budget, and any deadline. Nothing needs to be polished; the free call fills in the gaps.

Where is Seven Stack Tech based?

Seven Stack Tech Inc. is a Canadian corporation working with businesses across Canada. Most work happens remotely, and in-person meetings can be arranged when they help the project.

Will you sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA)?

Yes. An NDA can be signed before you share any confidential details, and confidentiality is also written into every project agreement.

Pricing and payments

Why are the prices lower than other agencies?

Seven Stack Tech keeps overhead small: remote work, no layers of account managers, and reusable components that are already tested. AI agents speed up routine work, and low-cost or open-source tools are recommended when they fit. You get the same quality without paying for a large agency's office and sales staff.

How much will my project cost?

The starting prices on the pricing page are where most projects begin, and each one is shown next to the typical Canadian price for comparison. After a free call, you receive a fixed quote based on your exact requirements, usually within three business days. If it's over your budget, the quote shows what to phase or remove.

How do payments work?

Your quote splits the price into milestones, for example when you approve the quote, when the design is approved, and at launch. You pay as you see the work, never the full amount up front. Invoices are in Canadian dollars, with GST/HST added where it applies.

How is my money protected?

You never pay the full price up front. Payments are tied to milestones you can see and try, the scope and price are fixed in a written agreement, and you own everything delivered at each stage. If you stop at a milestone, you keep the work and pay nothing further.

What if I'm not happy with the design?

Design is approved before any building starts, and your quote states how many rounds of revisions are included. Most changes happen at this stage, when they're quick and cheap to make, so you see and agree to the look before paying for the build.

What if I want changes after I approve the quote?

Small adjustments during design are expected and included. Anything new that wasn't in the quote is priced in writing first, and you decide whether to add it now, later, or not at all.

What if I want to stop the project partway?

You can stop at the end of any milestone. You pay only for the milestones completed, and you keep everything delivered up to that point, including the code and designs.

Are there ongoing costs after launch?

Usually small ones: your domain name, hosting, and any paid apps or AI usage, all billed to you directly by the provider. They're listed in your quote. A maintenance plan with Seven Stack Tech is optional.

Timeline and process

How long does it take?

A starter website usually takes 2 to 3 weeks, a business website 4 to 6 weeks, and a single AI automation 2 to 4 weeks. Custom software and mobile apps depend on scope; a first version of custom software typically takes 6 to 10 weeks, and a mobile app 8 to 12 weeks.

How will I get updates during the project?

You get a private preview link where you can see and try the work as it's built, plus a short written update at each milestone. Questions are answered by email within one business day.

Do I own the website, app, or software?

Yes. The code, design, content, domain, and hosting accounts are all in your name. If you ever choose to work with someone else, everything goes with you.

Can it work with my existing website or tools?

Yes. An existing site can be improved or taken over, new software can connect to the tools you already use, and automation can link your current tools rather than replace them.

Can I get a bilingual English and French website?

Yes. Sites can switch cleanly between English and French, which matters if you serve customers in Quebec. Translation itself is quoted separately, or you can supply your own.

AI, data, and security

Is AI used to build my project? Is that safe?

Yes. AI agents help write code, tests, and documentation faster, which is a big part of why prices are lower. Everything is reviewed and tested by a person before it reaches you, and your confidential data is never used to train AI models.

Is AI automation right for my business?

If someone in your business repeats the same task many times a week, such as answering similar emails or copying information between systems, it's often a good fit. If a simpler non-AI fix would work better, that's what you'll be advised to do.

Can AI work with audio, video, or voice in my business?

Yes. Options include speech-to-text for calls and dictation, text-to-speech in English and French, AI phone and voice assistants, automatic video captions and translations, and tools that read documents and photos. You'll see a small working example on your own files before you commit to a full build.

What happens to my data when AI is used?

Only business AI services that don't train their models on your data are used, and they receive only what each task needs. Where it matters, sensitive details are removed first, and providers with Canadian hosting are available. Every automation is documented, so you know exactly what data goes where.

How is my website, app, or software kept secure?

Security checks are built into every stage, not added at the end. Code and libraries are scanned automatically, testing covers the OWASP Top 10 for web, mobile, and AI applications, admin logins use two-factor sign-in, and your data is encrypted and backed up. You get a written security summary at launch.

Apps and maintenance

Can Seven Stack Tech build Android and iPhone apps?

Yes. Android and iPhone apps are usually built from one shared codebase, so you pay for one build instead of two. Apps are published to Google Play and the App Store under your own developer accounts, so they stay yours.

What does a maintenance plan cover?

Security and software updates, backups, uptime monitoring, bug fixes, and a set amount of small changes each month. For apps, it also covers updates when Google or Apple release new phone versions or change store rules, so your app stays available in the stores.

Can a website or app someone else built be maintained?

Yes. The process starts with a review of the code and hosting and a plain-language report on its condition, followed by a maintenance quote. If it needs fixing first, you'll know what and why before any work starts.

What happens if something breaks after launch?

Anything that doesn't work as agreed in the first 30 days after launch is fixed at no charge. After that, fixes are covered by a maintenance plan, or quoted individually if you don't have one.

Describe what you need. Get a fixed quote.

A free 30-minute call, then a written quote in Canadian dollars, usually within 3 business days.
